Create an adorable autumn hedgehog with glittery leaves and small twigs, a perfect creative activity to do with children as autumn arrives. Using a paper plate and a styrofoam disc, little artists can create the hedgehog's head, then bring it to life with large googly eyes, a pom-pom for the snout, and some details drawn with a marker.

How to complete this tutorial step by step?

Materials:

To make a pretty hedgehog, you will need:

- a small white paper plate (Ø 15 cm)

- a styrofoam disc (Ø 8 cm)

- glittery autumn leaf stickers
- twigs
- flesh-colored acrylic paint

- a paintbrush

- 2 googly eyes (Ø 2.5 cm)

- a brown pom-pom

- a black marker

- a sturdy card base
- white glue

- a pair of scissors

Step 1:

First, paint the styrofoam disc with flesh-colored acrylic paint.

Then let it dry for about 20 minutes.

Step 2:

Using white glue, attach two large googly eyes to the disc, then add a brown pom-pom just below to form the snout.

Step 3:

With a black marker, draw a small mouth, some freckles, and eyelashes above the eyes to give the hedgehog an adorable expression.

Step 4:

Cut a strip from one side of the paper plate to create a flat base. This part will allow the hedgehog to sit well once finished.

Step 5:

Glue the styrofoam disc onto the paper plate, towards the bottom, leaving enough space all around to create the spines.

Step 6:

Glue the glittery autumn leaf stickers all around the head. Alternate shapes and colors to form pretty colorful spines

Step 7:

Insert small twigs into the styrofoam disc and spread them out like a fan between the leaves to complete the hedgehog's spines and add a nice natural touch to the creation.
