Pom Pom Catapult

Stack 7 sticks and secure them together using 2 elastic bands placed at the ends.

Make 4 to 5 turns of elastic on each side.

Place one stick above and one below the 7 linked sticks while forming a V (see photo on the side).

Secure the two sticks together with an elastic band placed about 2 cm from the ends of the sticks.

Make 4 to 5 rounds with the elastic band.

We will now attach the central part of the catapult.

Place an elastic band diagonally as shown in the photo, then make 3 turns with the elastic band.

The elastic band should encircle all the sticks.

Repeat the previous step with a second elastic band, changing sides to form a cross at the center of the catapult.

Glue a plastic cap to the top of the catapult.

The edge of the cap should be about 1.5 cm from the end of the stick. This will create a very convenient space to operate the catapult with your fingers!

Allow the glue to dry for a few hours before playing with the catapult.

Place a pom-pom in the cap, press down with your finger on the top of the catapult, and release to see the projectile fly away!

Activity Idea  :

1) Place a large round paper target on the ground and mark the scoring areas (like a dart game, ...)

2) Give 10 pom-poms to each player

3) Set the throwing area a few meters from the target

4) Each player throws a pom-pom using a catapult and records the number of points scored.

5) Total the points accumulated after the 10 throws to determine the winner.
