How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Material:
To make a koala you will need a koala pom-poms kit. Kit contents: 3 balls of grey wool, 4 tools for making pom-poms, 24 google eyes Ø 2.5 cm, 10 black sturdy cards, 10 silver sturdy cards, a tube of white glue, and a pair of precision scissors.
Additional items:
- A circular cutter
- A cutting mat
Step 1:
Wrap gray wool around the 9 cm diamond pompom maker tool (or smaller if you want to create a smaller koala pompom).
For a nice fluffy pompom, feel free to wrap until you achieve about 1 to 2 cm of thickness of wool around the pompom tool.
Step 2 :
Close the 2 parts of the pom pom tool and then cut the yarn by passing the precision scissors blade into the cavity.
Step 3:
Cut a piece of yarn about 20 cm long and then thread it through the cavity of the tool. Then make a double knot, pulling tight to help the pompom keep its round shape.
Step 4:
Once the knot is done, separate the pom-pom from the tool and trim the pom-pom with a pair of scissors to give it a nice round shape.
Step 5:
Cut out 2 circles of approximately Ø 5 cm as well as the small oval nose of the koala from a sturdy black cardstock.
Then cut out 2 circles of approximately Ø 3.5 cm from a sturdy silver cardstock to create the inside of the koala's ear.
Tip: Use our rotary cutter (ref. 37035) to achieve nice circles.
Step 6:
With white glue, stick the silver circles in the center of the black circles.
Then let dry for about 10 minutes.
Step 7:
Glue the mobile eyes Ø 2.5 cm and the koala's nose onto the pompom.
Step 8:
Finally, apply white glue to the ends of the ears and push them into the pompom to stick them.
Then let everything dry for a few hours.
