Using wooden sticks, natural raffia, and paint, children can unleash their creativity while following a fun tutorial at home or at school.
An easy and enjoyable activity, perfect to share with children from 3 years old!
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials:
To make a Halloween scarecrow, you will need:
- 6 large wooden sticks
- one giant wooden stick
- natural raffia
- one sheet of "realistic" paper
- 3 round wooden buttons
- 2 googly eyes Ø 2.5 cm
- two markers (orange and black)
- paint (brown and flesh) + a brush
- adhesive dots
- double-sided adhesive 18 m x 1 cm
- a pair of scissors
Step 1:
Start by securing 5 maxi craft sticks by attaching them using another stick placed diagonally with double-sided adhesive.
This will form the base of the scarecrow's face.
Step 2:
On a large wooden stick, attach pieces of natural raffia to the ends to create the scarecrow's hair using double-sided adhesive.
Step 3:
Glue the stick diagonally with the raffia on the upper part, as shown in the photo.
Step 4:
Paint the lower part with skin-colored paint and the upper part with brown paint.
Step 5:
Place a giant stick on a realistic piece of paper and trace its outline with a pencil.
Step 6:
Cut out the resulting shape and stick it onto the giant stick using double-sided adhesive.
Step 7:
Glue the giant stick to the back of the scarecrow's head.
Step 8:
Using adhesive dots, add the wooden buttons to create details and attach the googly eyes.
Step 9:
Finally, draw the scarecrow's nose and mouth to complete its face.
