With this easy Christmas craft, children will make some funny snowmen!
Here, we will start with a simple cup, then use fabric and linen thread to create little hats.
Activity to be done with the help of an adult.
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials:
To make a snowman you need:
- A cardboard cup
- A piece of fabric (17 x 17 cm)
- Brown chenille stems
- A butterfly knot sticker
- Colored adhesive lace
- Two movable eyes Ø 2.5 cm
- Natural linen thread
- Markers (black and orange)
- Double-sided adhesive tape 1 cm
- Adhesive gel dots
- A compass
- A pair of scissors
Step 1:
To begin, cut a square of fabric in half.
Step 2:
Place double-sided tape along the entire length of the fabric, then remove the protective film.
Step 3:
Glue the fabric coupon by wrapping it around a cardboard cup.
Step 4:
Use a piece of string to tie a knot around the fabric to shape the hat.
Step 5 :
Glue colored adhesive lace around the fabric.
Step 6:
Stick two movable eyes Ø 2.5 cm with adhesive dots.
Step 7:
Draw the nose and mouth with markers.
Step 8 :
Glue a 3D bow tie to the bottom of the cup.
Step 9:
Cut a brown caterpillar into three :
- Two pieces of 5 cm
- One piece of 20 cm
Step 10:
WARNING this step may require the help of an adult.
Drill 2 holes on the sides of the cup using a compass point.
Step 11:
Insert the 20 cm piece of caterpillar through the 2 holes.
Step 12:
To finish, wrap the small pieces of chenille (5 cm) around the 20 cm chenille to create the snowman's "hands."
