This year we are going to create a unique Mother's Day gift using a wooden log!
Children can decorate it with ink, rhinestones, and a lovely photo to create a beautiful hanging decoration that will delight moms and dads.
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials
For this activity, you will need:
- a wooden log Ø 8-10 cm
- drawing ink and a brush
- adhesive letters
- pearlescent cabochons
- decorative wooden shapes
- a tube of glue
- a photo
- a pair of scissors
- a screw eye
- ribbon
Step 1
Stain a wood log using drawing ink and a brush.
The translucent finish of the drawing ink allows the wood grain to show through, creating a beautiful effect!
Step 2
Cut and then paste a photo in the center of the log.
Step 3
Customize the log by sticking the letters "mom" below the photo (or "dad" for Father's Day, a first name...).
Step 4
Decorate the edge of the log with pretty wooden patterns and pearly cabochons to glue.
Step 5
Screw a metal hook into the edge of the log.
Step 6
Attach a colored ribbon to the hook.
