Wool Christmas Wreath
With a wooden ring and wool, children will learn to make mini Christmas wreaths to decorate the tree or the home.
An easy Christmas activity that children will love !
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials
To make a mini Christmas wreath you need:
- a wooden ring (Ø 6.5 cm)
- colored yarn
- fancy paper bows
- wooden shapes (heart, Santa Claus, reindeer...)
- rubber star stickers
- golden jingle bells
- golden cord
- a pair of scissors
Step 1
Wrap wool around an object measuring approximately 20 cm.
You can also cut a 20 cm square from cardboard to wrap the wool around.
Step 2
Remove the wool wrapped around the object and then cut the ends to obtain pieces of wool about 20 cm long.
Step 3
Cut threads of wool in several different colors to create a pretty wreath.
You will need a total of 60 to 70 threads of wool to completely cover the wooden ring.
Step 4
Fold a piece of wool yarn in half and place it under the ring, as shown in the photo. Then, pass the two ends of the yarn through the loop...
Step 5
... then pull to tighten the knot around the ring.
Step 6
Tie the wool threads all around the ring, alternating colors.
Step 7
Once the ring is fully covered, adjust the wool with a pair of scissors to restore a nice round shape to the crown.
Step 8
Thread about 5 assorted size bells onto a gold cord of approximately 20 cm.
Step 9
Attach the cord and the bells to the wreath.
Step 10
Decorate the crown with glittery star-shaped stickers and pretty paper bows.
Very practical, these two decorative elements are adhesive. This way, you can have an activity with no need for glue, perfect for children !
Step 11
You can also replace the paper node with small wooden shapes (heart, Santa Claus, reindeer, ...) which can easily be fixed with adhesive dots.
Then, attach a cord so you can hang the wreath on the tree or in the house!
