Cyanotype Kit
Get started with the artistic technique of cyanotype with this complete kit containing everything you need to create about 200 unique and creative prints. The cyanotype, an old photographic process, allows you to obtain images in an intense blue thanks to a reaction to sunlight.
Experience the magic of light and create elegant and original artworks, whether to decorate your home or to give handmade creations as gifts. Accessible and fun, it is suitable for both beginners and art enthusiasts!
Contents:
- 2 bottles (100 ml each) to create the Cyanotype solution
- 2 pipettes + 2 gloves + 1 jar with a lid for mixing
- 4 sheets + 4 envelopes + 4 cards
- stickers + 2 stencils + 1 foam stamp + 1 sturdy plastic plate + 4 clamps to stabilize the plate
- 1 piece of cardboard, instructions
How does it work? Create the solution using the 2 bottles (follow the instructions included), let it rest for 24 hours away from light, then soak your support (paper, cotton, etc.). Once the support is dry, place recognizable objects (plants, jewelry, objects) on the paper, then expose it to sunlight. Once this step is complete, rinse the sheet with fresh water to reveal the exposed areas that will turn Prussian blue, while the silhouettes of the objects will appear in negative on the support.
Good to know: The exposure time for a cyanotype to sunlight varies depending on the season and UV index:
- Summer (UV index > 6): from 1 to 10 minutes.
- Spring and autumn (UV index between 3 and 6): from 5 to 30 minutes.
- Winter (UV index < 3): from 10 minutes to over an hour.
