Lyra Aqua Brush Duo Markers, 6 Shades of Grey
Lyra Aqua Brush Duo: a range of grey tones in water-soluble markers.
Working in grey is a key drawing exercise. Without colour to distract, everything depends on values — the balance of light and shadow. This builds volume, depth and form. This set of 6 grey tones is designed specifically for this purpose.
Two tips, two uses, one marker
Each marker has a dual tip:
- Fine tip, 1 mm: for outlines, details, hatching, writing and technical lines.
- Flexible brush tip, 1 to 5 mm: for variable-width strokes, fills and covering large areas quickly.
Water-soluble: the marker becomes a wash. The ink is water-based, so a wet brush can dilute, blend and turn it into a wash. This lets you create gradual shading impossible with the marker alone, soft shadows and smooth transitions, blending the six grey tones to expand your range.
Uses:
- Manga and comics: grey tones for shading, textures and backgrounds.
- Architectural and product sketches: showing volume, cast shadows and materials.
- Illustration and travel journals: building structure before adding colour.
- Value studies: a fundamental drawing exercise.
- Lettering and calligraphy using the brush tip.
