Every graphite artist knows the problem: the harder you press, the darker it gets, and the more the pencil leaves a shiny deposit that catches the light. A black that is supposed to be deep ends up looking gray and metallic as soon as you tilt the paper. The Pitt Graphite Matt range has been specifically formulated to solve this issue.

Its composition offers an ultra-matte finish: reflections are eliminated, and dark values gain density and depth. The rendering remains true under all lighting conditions: a real plus for works intended to be photographed, scanned, or displayed.

What’s the difference with traditional graphite pencils (Castell 9000)?
The Castell 9000 offers a traditional matte rendering and goes up to 8B. The Pitt Graphite Matt pushes further on two points: an ultra-matte formula that completely eliminates reflections, and extreme hardness levels (10B, 12B, 14B) for much deeper blacks.
