The POSCA markers contain water-based ink and lightfast pigments, ensuring long-lasting durability for your creations. The permanent felt-tip markers are ideal for porous surfaces; once the paint is dry, you can protect your creation with a suitable varnish for gouache or acrylic paint.
On smooth surfaces, Posca is temporary. You can fix the paint on porcelain by covering it with a water-based aerosol spray varnish, spraying from 30cm away with small circular motions. Items decorated with Posca markers should not be used for food.
- POSCA on textiles such as cotton, silk, linen or canvas, polyester, viscose, and coated fabrics: for better adhesion, wash your fabric before decorating. Start by outlining your design, then color in gradually to avoid a blotting effect on delicate fabrics. To set the colors, iron the fabric inside out without steam.
- POSCA on glass and windows: removable with a damp cloth or glass cleaner.
- POSCA on glass and ceramics: For non-food use, set the colors with a water-based varnish.
- POSCA on unglazed terracotta and porcelain: Bake the item in the oven at 220°C for 45 minutes to set the colors.
In general, to achieve the best result on dark surfaces, it is recommended to use white first and then go over with the final color.
