Rectangular plaques made from natural wood or MDF medium for creating a frame, mirror, which can be painted with acrylic paint, gouache, covered with Decopatch papers, mosaics, or any type of creative collage! These supports are versatile and suitable for a wide range of activities; choose the size that best fits your project!
Differences Between Wood and MDF:
- Wood: natural material, light color ideal for painting or gluing activities. Lighter material than MDF. Surfaces may vary depending on the knots naturally present in the wood cut. Very beautiful natural appearance. Material that can be painted and varnished.
- MDF: material composed of reconstituted wood fibers. Smooth and uniform surface, dark brown color (similar to cardboard color). Porous surface that requires a layer of Gesso (opaque white primer) before painting. Stronger than natural wood, MDF is recommended for collage activities (such as mosaics, shells, wood, sand...). Resistant to temperature changes; do not use for outdoor decoration as MDF cannot withstand contact with water. Material that can be painted and varnished.
