Bead Snakes
A fun and economical activity using plastic beads and pipe cleaners.
Children, even the youngest ones, will love making these colorful little snakes!
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Etape 1.
To make a snake you will need:
- a colored pom-pom (Ø 9 mm; length: 30 cm)
- about 30 round plastic beads Ø 9 mm
- 2 googly eyes Ø 1 cm
- a sheet of red paper
- glue
- a pair of scissors
Etape 2.
To start, form a loop with one of the two ends of the chenille stem, then twist it all together to secure the loop.
This will help to stop the beads that will be strung onto the chenille stem from slipping off.
Etape 3.
Thread about 30 plastic beads onto the chenille wire.
Leave about 8 cm of chenille wire without beads.
Etape 4.
Form a loop to enclose the beads.
To do this, simply bring the end of the pipe cleaner back through the first three beads.
Etape 5.
Glue 2 moveable eyes with a diameter of 1 cm using a strong white glue.
Etape 6.
Cut out the snake's tongue from a sheet of red paper.
Etape 7.
Glue the snake tongue with a strong white glue.
Etape 8.
The chenille wire is moldable, allowing you to twist the snake in every direction!
Etape 9.
Vary the colors to create fun snakes for children to play with for hours!
