Bertille the Little Caterpillar
In this spring activity, we will show you how to make an adorable caterpillar using a paper plate, paint, and paper.
This is an easy activity that will allow children to develop their creativity and dexterity while having fun. They can customize their caterpillar by choosing their favorite colors and decorate the plate with small paper flowers for an irresistible look !
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials
To make a pretty caterpillar you will need:
- a large white cardboard plate
- green paint and a paintbrush
- colored paper sheets
- a round hole punch Ø 5 cm
- paper flowers
- round adhesive rhinestones
- googly eyes Ø 18 mm
- a tube of white glue
- a pair of scissors
- a black marker
Step 1
Turn the cardboard plate over and then paint it with green paint.
Leave to dry for about 45 minutes.
Step 2
Cut out 7 circles Ø 5 cm from colored paper sheets using a hole punch.
Step 3
Fold the cardboard plate in half and create the caterpillar by sticking the paper circles onto the back of the plate.
Glue a final green circle slightly off-center for the caterpillar's head.
Step 4
Glue 2 googly eyes onto the green circle, then draw a nice smile using a marker.
Cut 2 small strips of paper and glue them behind the caterpillar's head to create the antennas.
Step 5
Decorate the plate by sticking on colored paper flowers.
Glue 2 small flowers at the ends of the antennae.
Step 6
For a sparkling finish, glue rhinestones to the center of the flowers.
