Materials

To carry out this autumn activity, you will need:

- a square MDF board (20 x 20 cm)

- a round MDF board (Ø 10 cm)

- a large wooden stick (20 cm)

- 2 small wooden sticks (5.5 cm)

- 2 self-adhesive eyes Ø 1.8 cm

- wooden discs

- a burlap strip

- alphabet stickers

- leaf stickers

- a drawing clip

- wood glue

- double-sided adhesive tape

- a black marker

Step 1

Color the round base in black using whatever you have at home (gouache stick, marker, paint...).

Step 2

Glue wooden discs onto the round base using wood glue to create a beautiful snail shell.

Step 3

Cut the large wooden stick into 2 parts using a pair of scissors.

Cut so as to obtain a piece of 15 cm and a piece of 10 cm. These 2 pieces will be used to make the body of the snail.

Step 4

Glue the two large sticks perpendicular to each other, then glue two small wooden sticks to create the snail's tentacles.

Complete the assembly by gluing the shell onto the body of the snail.

Step 5

Stick 2 googly eyes on the small wooden sticks and draw a smile using a black marker.

Step 6

Stick a piece of double-sided tape at the bottom of the square support and then remove the protective film.

Step 7

Cut a piece of burlap measuring 20 cm and then stick it onto the adhesive tape.

Step 8

Apply a thick layer of glue under the body of the snail and then stick it onto the jute canvas.

Step 9

Customize the board with a name using alphabet stickers.

Step 10

Complete the decoration using tree leaf stickers.

Step 11

To hang the board on a wall or a bedroom door, here is a simple tip: use a metal drawing clip to attach it to the top of the wooden support. This way, it will be easy to hang on a nail!
