A great idea for children who love space, science fiction, or the supernatural; they will be proud to create this cardboard extraterrestrial spaceship with family or at school.
BONUS: This craft will also help raise children's awareness about recycling cardboard plates.
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials:
To make a saucer, you will need:
- two paper plates
- a plastic half-egg
- colored wool
- a tool for making pom poms
- a chenille
- colored rhinestones
- a glitter glue pen
- two monster eyes
- silver paint and a brush
- a glue gun
- a pair of scissors
- a cutter
- a stapler
Step 1:
To start, paint the back of two plates with silver paint.
Then let it dry for 20 minutes.
Step 2:
Assemble the 2 parts of the tool for making pom-poms Ø 7 cm and then wrap the yarn around it.
Note: the more yarn wrapped around the tool, the denser and bulkier the pom-pom will be.
Step 3:
Close the pompom tool with the plastic fasteners to form a circle.
Then place the scissors blade between the two parts of the tool and cut the yarn.
Step 4:
Pass a caterpillar through the tool's cavity, then tie a knot.
Step 5:
Remove the tool and wrap the chenille to form antennas.
Step 6:
Glue two monster eyes with a glue gun.
Step 7:
WARNING this step may require the help of an adult.
Using a cutter, cut a circle of about Ø 6 cm in the center of the cardboard plate.
Step 8:
Place the alien pompom inside the circle, then using a hot glue gun, glue the top part of the plastic egg like this.
Step 9:
Place the cardboard plate (painted in step 1) underneath it and staple them together.
Step 10:
Stick rhinestones all around the plate using a glue gun.
Step 11:
Finally, make small dots with a glitter glue pen on the cardboard plate.
