Funny Bead Snakes
Discover a fun activity that will help young children develop their fine motor skills.
Children will need to focus on threading the beads (with large holes) onto the caterpillars to create beautiful colorful snakes.
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials
To make colorful snakes, you will need:
- chenille (Ø 6 mm x 50 cm)
- XXL ironing beads
- movable eyes Ø 1 cm
- a sheet of red paper
- a pair of scissors
- a tube of strong white glue
Step 1
Make a loop at the end of a caterpillar and twist it to secure it.
Step 2
Thread the XXL ironing beads onto the chenille while leaving about 20 cm of chenille visible.
For this activity, we chose the XXL ironing beads because their large size allows for easy handling by young children's small hands. Additionally, they have an extra wide hole that facilitates easy threading onto the chenilles.
Step 3
Wrap the caterpillar to form the head of the snake.
Step 4
Glue two movable eyes Ø 1 cm with strong white glue.
Step 5
Cut the snake's tongue from a strong red card and then glue it using strong white glue.
