In this easy Halloween activity, children will be able to create glow-in-the-dark bats using a cup, scratch cards, and an electric candle!
During this craft, they will use scratch cards to make pretty colorful wings.
On Halloween night, all it takes is to light the electric candles to make these little creatures sparkle in the dark.
An easy and original activity for children aged 3 and up!
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials:
To make these bats, you will need:
- a white cardboard cup
- an electric candle
- a multicolored scratch card
- 2 black moving eyes Ø 2.5 cm
- black acrylic paint and a brush
- a white paint marker
- a metal fastener for piercing
- clear nylon thread
- adhesive gel pads
- a pair of scissors
- a precision cutter
Step 1:
To start, paint a cardboard cup with black acrylic paint
Then let it dry for about 20 minutes.
Step 2:
In a scratch-off card, cut out 2 wings and 2 small black triangles to create the bat's ears.
Step 3:
Using a wooden scraper, draw the inside of the ears and pretty patterns on the wings with scratch art paper.
Step 4:

Make 2 slits on each side of the cup using a craft knife to insert the wings made from scratch card.
Step 5:
Attach the two ears to the top of the cup using adhesive gel dots.
Step 6:

Make a small cross cut at the center of the cup, then insert the "flame" of the electric candle through the inside of the cup.
Step 7:
Glue 2 wiggle eyes with adhesive dots and then draw the mouth of the bat with a white paint marker.
Step 8:
To suspend the bat, insert a metal attachment at the top of the cup and hang a clear thread.
