Funny Chickens
An easy and fun Easter craft that allows children to create funny chickens using polystyrene balls, some paint, and a few accessories!
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Etape 1.
To make a pretty chick, you will need:
- a polystyrene ball Ø 7 cm
- a polystyrene ball Ø 5 cm
- a wooden stick
- Funky Emotion stick-on eyes
- acrylic paint and a paintbrush
- 4 colored pipe cleaners (30 cm long)
- an orange cardstock
- a pair of scissors
- strong white glue
Etape 2.
To create the body of the chick, insert the two polystyrene balls (Ø 5 and 7 cm) onto a wooden stick without pushing completely through the smaller ball.
Etape 3.
Paint the two polystyrene balls with acrylic paint and then let them dry for about 15 minutes.
Etape 4.
Insert a pair of Funky Emotion eyes into the smallest polystyrene ball.
Etape 5.
Cut a caterpillar in half, then bend the two pieces to create the hen's wings.
Etape 6.
Insert the wings into the large polystyrene ball.
Etape 7.
Shape a caterpillar with a crest and then place it on the hen's head.
Etape 8.
Cut a few pieces of chenille about 5 cm long, bend one end, and insert them into the back of the large polystyrene ball to form the tail.
Etape 9.
With 2 small pieces of chenille stem, shape and then insert the legs of the chick into the polystyrene.
Etape 10.
Cut out the beak of the chick from a strong orange card and then stick it with strong white glue.
Etape 11.
Here is a lovely chick that can be used as a puppet or as a decorative element for Easter!
Practical, the wooden stick will allow you to place the chick in your flower pots for a nice decoration!
