With a simple cardboard bowl, a bit of red paint, and some black paper, children will create an adorable ladybug! Just turn the bowl upside down, paint it, cut out legs, antennae, and black spots... then stick it all together to bring a cute little insect with a charming smile to life.

How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials
To make a ladybug you need:
- a white cardboard bowl
- a sheet of black paper (A4 - 130 gsm)
- red paint and a brush
- a sheet of googly eyes
- a round hole punch (Ø 1.5 cm)
- a white acrylic marker
- a pair of scissors
- adhesive dots
Step 1
Turn the bowl over and paint it with red acrylic paint to create the body of the ladybug.
Step 2
Cut out the following elements from a sheet of black paper:
- a circle (Ø 5 cm)
- 2 thin strips (6 cm) for the antennas
- 6 strips (5 cm) for the legs
Tip: use a small coffee cup to trace the circle on the black paper!
Step 3
Glue 2 googly eyes on the black circle, draw a small smile with a white acrylic marker, and attach the 2 antennas before assembling the body and head of the ladybug using adhesive dots.
Tip: Roll the tops of the antennas around a pencil to curve them.
Step 4
Stick the 6 black strips of paper underneath the bowl using adhesive dots to create the legs of the ladybug.
Step 5
Cut about 12 small circles from a sheet of black paper using a hole punch.
Step 6
Stick the small black paper circles onto the bowl using the adhesive dots.
