Heart necklace made of magic plastic

To carry out this activity you will need:

- a sheet of translucent magic plastic

- permanent markers

- a printable template

- a hole punch

- 1 mm string

- beads

- a pair of scissors

- clips

- a heat gun

Cut a square of 10 x 10 cm from a sheet of translucent magic plastic.

Fix the square of magic plastic with paper clips to the printed template and then color the circles with permanent markers.

IMPORTANT: color the rough side of the magic plastic.

Draw a large heart with a black permanent marker.

Cut out the heart, making sure not to cut the black outline.

Make 2 holes at the top of the heart with a hole punch.

It is important to make the holes at this step because once heated the magic plastic shrinks and thickens.

Heat the magic plastic for about one minute with a heat gun. The magic plastic will shrink and thicken, heat until the heart flattens out again.

Note: you can also shrink the magic plastic by placing it in the oven for a few minutes at 180 °C.

Without waiting, while the plastic is still hot, flatten the heart using a flat support.

Cut a piece of string about 80 cm (Ø 1 mm), pass it through the first hole and then string some colored beads onto both pieces of thread.

Attach a second piece of string to the second hole, add a few beads, and then tie all the strands together with a double knot to finish the necklace.
