Make a Caterpillar with Buttons

To make a caterpillar about 15 cm long, you will need:

- 60 to 70 colored buttons (assorted diameters)

- elastic nylon thread Créa'Facile

- a self-adhesive glitter foam sheet

- a pipe cleaner 30 cm x Ø 6 mm

- 2 googly eyes Ø 12 mm

- strong white glue

- a black marker

Cut a piece of nylon elastic thread about 50 cm long, fold it in half, and then thread the buttons onto both ends of the thread.

Thread the buttons, varying the sizes and colors until you create a caterpillar body about 15 cm long.

Make a double (or triple) knot to secure everything.

From a self-adhesive glitter soft rubber sheet, cut out a circle with a diameter of 3 cm.

Remove the protective film to reveal the adhesive surface, then stick your glitter circle onto the first button (above the knot made in step 3).

This will serve as the base for creating the caterpillar's head.

Using a strong white glue, attach 2 movable eyes Ø 12 mm onto the glittery soft rubber.

To create the antennas, cut a piece of chenille (Ø 6 mm) about 10 cm long and then fold it in half.

Slide the piece of chenille between the first and second button, then glue the antennas onto the adhesive surface of the glitter foam (see photo on the right).

If necessary, adjust the antennas with a pair of scissors.

Draw a nice smile on your caterpillar's face with a black marker (paint marker or permanent marker).
