Discover a fun and easy activity that allows children to create a funny and colorful clown mounted on a paper spring.
An ideal creative craft to do during Carnival!
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials
To make a spring clown, you will need:
- a round cardboard box Ø 8 cm
- a polystyrene ball Ø 5 cm
- colored cardstock 25 x 35 cm (300 gr/m²)
- pipe cleaners
- googly eyes Ø 18 mm
- a pom-pom
- geometric stickers
- white paint and a brush
- a pair of scissors
- a glue stick
- adhesive gel dots (glue dots)
Step 1
Paint the cardboard box and the lid with white acrylic paint and let it dry for about 30 minutes.
Step 2
Cut 2 strips of 4 cm x 35 cm from thick colored cards.
Step 3
Glue the ends of the two strips of paper together to form a right angle.
Step 4
Fold the strips of paper over each other along their entire length to form a "spring" from paper.
Secure the ends of the strips with a dot of glue.
Step 5
Stick the 5 cm Ø polystyrene ball onto the paper spring using a gel adhesive dot.
Step 6
Glue 2 movable eyes and a pom-pom onto the polystyrene ball using adhesive dots.
Step 7
Cut 5 or 6 colored chenille strips of 30 cm into two pieces to obtain 15 cm strips.
Tip: To achieve a beautiful dense hair, we used chenille Ø 9 mm.
Step 8
Wrap the 15 cm chenille stems around a pencil to create colorful "springs".
Step 9
Insert the chenille stems into the polystyrene ball to create the clown's hair.
Step 10
Decorate the cardboard box and the lid with geometric stickers.
Step 11
Glue 2 or 3 adhesive dots under the paper spring and then place the clown in the cardboard box.

Rigolo pour les petits et très coloré !

Dommage que la boite n’est pas assez haute pour la fermer avec le clown a l’intérieur… la fille était un peu déçu
