How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials
To make this monster you will need:
- a wooden tissue box
- 2 half foam balls
- acrylic paint and a brush
- colored A4 paper (130 g/m²)
- 30 cm caterpillars
- plastic buttons
- a pair of scissors
- strong white glue
Step 1
Paint the wooden tissue box with acrylic paint and then let it dry for about 30 minutes.
Step 2
Paint a black circle at the center of each styrofoam half-ball to create the monster's eyes.
Step 3
Glue the polystyrene half-balls onto the box using white glue.
Step 4
Cut small pieces of caterpillars and plant them in the polystyrene balls to enhance the monster's look.
Step 5
On a colored A4 sheet, cut out 2 strips of 3 cm x 30 cm. These will be used to make the first arm of the monster.
Step 6
Glue the ends of the 2 strips together to form a right angle.
Step 7
Fold each strip one over the other, along their entire length, to form a paper accordion.
Step 8
Glue the 2 ends to maintain the shape of the "accordion".
Step 9
Glue the monster's arm to the side of the box.
Repeat steps 5 to 8 to create the second arm of the monster.
Step 10
Using strong white glue, stick colorful plastic buttons on the front and side faces.
Allow the glue to dry for about 45 minutes.
Step 11
Cut small triangles of 3 to 5 cm from a white sheet to create the monster's teeth.
Step 12
Glue the monster's teeth inside the box, all around the oval opening.
Step 13
Cut out about 12 triangles from colored paper sheets.
Tip: for faster cutting, stack the colored sheets and then cut the triangles.
Step 14
Fold the base of the small colored triangles, then glue them onto the monster's head to give it a funny look.
Step 15
Fill the candy box and close it using the lid.
For Halloween, the boldest children will have to plunge their hand into the monster's mouth to collect the candy!
