Paper Turtle

To make a turtle you need:

- colored A4 paper sheets (300 g/m²)

- a pair of scissors

- a tube of glue

- 2 googly eyes Ø 2.5 cm

Bonus: a paper cutter for easily cutting regular strips of paper.

Cut a strip of yellow paper with a wavy edge and then glue it onto a sheet of blue paper to illustrate the sea and a sandbank.

Cut out the turtle's body parts from a sheet of paper :

- a circle of 7 cm (head)

- a circle of 14 cm (shell)

- 4 legs

- a tail

You can trace the turtle's shell on the paper using a bowl and the turtle's head using a glass/cup.

Assemble the different elements of the turtle's body (except for the head) and then glue everything onto the blue sheet of paper.

Cut 8 strips of colored paper.

Dimensions of one strip = 2 cm x 21 cm (width of an A4 sheet).

Fold the two ends of the strips and stick them on each side of the large green circle to create a nice three-dimensional shell.

Here is the result obtained after gluing the 8 strips of paper.

Glue 2 moving eyes Ø 2.5 cm on the turtle's head, then draw a smile using a black marker.

Cut 2 strips of paper measuring 4 cm x 30 cm and then glue them together to form a right angle.

This will be used to make a paper spring to attach the turtle's head.

Fold the strips of paper one over the other along the entire length to create the paper spring.

Finish by gluing the two ends of the strips together.

Glue the turtle's head onto the paper spring.

Glue the head assembly + spring onto the side of the shell.

For a nice decoration, you can even glue some seashells!
