Polar Bear with Styrofoam Balls
In this activity, children will have fun making adorable polar bears using Styrofoam balls.
A great winter-themed craft to do with your little artists.
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials
To make a polar bear you need:
- a polystyrene ball Ø 5 cm
- a polystyrene ball Ø 7 cm
- a wooden base Ø 8.5 cm
- a wooden skewer
- screw eyes and a nose
- a small woolen hat
- white pompoms
- a white pipe cleaner
- a piece of ribbon
- a glue gun
- a pair of scissors
Step 1
Insert the 2 balls (Ø 7 and 5 cm) onto a wooden skewer, ensuring that the skewer does not protrude from the small ball.
Step 2
Insert 2 eyes and a nose into the small polystyrene ball to create the bear's face.
Step 3
Using a glue gun, attach a small wool hat and 2 white pom-poms on each side of it.
Step 4
Cut a piece of ribbon approximately 20 cm long that we will use to create the bear's scarf.
Step 5
Wrap the scarf around the bear's neck and secure it with the glue gun.
Step 6
Insert 3 small black accessories into the large polystyrene ball.
Step 7
Cut a 30 cm white chenille into 4 pieces.
Step 8
Plant the 4 small caterpillars into the large ball to create the bear's legs.
Step 9
Cut the wooden skewer tip flush with the ball.
Step 10
Glue the bear onto a wooden base using the glue gun.
