Do you love fun animals and easy crafts? In this winter-themed craft activity, we will bring simple cardboard cups to life by making funny penguins !
An easy craft to follow that can be completed by children of all ages with a bit of adult assistance, a lovely way to keep the kids occupied on cold winter days.
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials:
To make a penguin, you need:
- a cardboard cup
- a beak and legs to plant
- a bowtie sticker
- a paper tray
- a giant pom-pom
- black and white feathers
- two movable eyes Ø 25 mm
- a slice of wood
- snow effect paste
- black paint and a brush
- a glue gun
- a compass
Step 1:
To begin, apply snow effect modeling paste with a brush on a piece of wood.
Allow to dry for 3-4 hours.
Step 2:
Paint a white cardboard cup with black paint, leaving a white oval area to form the belly of the penguin.
Leave to dry for 20 minutes.
Step 3:
Using a glue gun, attach a paper cup holder to the cardboard cup.
Step 4:
Glue a giant pompon to create a nice hat.
Step 5:
Next, glue two moving eyes Ø 2.5 cm.
Step 6:
Glue two black or white feathers on each side of the cup with a hot glue gun to form the wings.
Step 7:
WARNING this step may require the help of an adult.
Use the tip of a compass to make three holes in the cup to insert the spout and the legs for planting.
Step 8:
Dress the penguin by sticking on a bow tie sticker.
Step 9:
And finally, glue the penguin onto the snowy wooden slice.
