Discover a unique activity to create decorations for the Christmas tree using small wooden spoons!
Kids will have fun turning wooden spoons into funny snowmen simply using white paint, pipe cleaners, buttons, and little hats. This is a fun Christmas craft to do with children from the age of 5!
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials
To make a snowman hanging decoration, you will need:
- a small wooden spoon
- a mini hat
- white paint and a brush
- 2 adhesive googly eyes Ø 1 cm
- buttons
- 2 pipe cleaners
- a black marker and an orange marker
- golden cord
- adhesive dots
- a pair of scissors
Step 1
Paint the spoon with white paint and then let it dry for about 30 minutes.
Step 2
Place the hat on the head of the spoon and then stick it using 2 adhesive dots located under the brim of the hat (one at the front, one at the back).
Step 3
Glue 2 adhesive moving eyes Ø 1 cm onto the head of the spoon.
Step 4
Stick 3 buttons on the handle of the spoon using adhesive pads.
Step 5
To create the two-colored scarf for the snowman, choose 2 pipe cleaners in different colors and twist them together as shown in the picture.
Step 6
Wrap the two-tone caterpillar around the handle of the spoon.
Step 7
Draw the mouth and nose of the snowman with markers.
Step 8
Attach a gold cord around the pom-pom of the hat and then make a double knot.
All you have left to do is to hang your creation on the Christmas tree!
