Stick Planes

To make an airplane you need:

- 2 wooden sticks, 9.3 cm in length

- 2 wooden sticks, 5.5 cm in length

- 1 clothespin, 7 cm in length

- acrylic paint

- a paintbrush

- 2 glitter buttons

- 1 pom-pom

- hot glue

- paint markers

To paint the clothespin more easily, we recommend removing the spring from it.

Paint the wooden elements (sticks + clothespin) with acrylic paint and let dry for 10 to 15 minutes.

Feel free to mix colors to give a fun touch to your future airplane!

Once the paint is dry, put the spring of the clothespin back in place.

Don't hesitate to ask an adult for help if needed.

Glue a 5.5 cm long stick on the top of the clothespin using raw glue.

Then glue the two sticks of 9.3 cm in length on each side of the clothespin.

The sticks will be glued about 1.5 cm from the bottom edge of the clothespin.

Glue a 5.5 cm stick to the front of the clip to create the front propeller of the airplane.

Glue a 1 cm diameter pompom onto the propeller of the airplane.

Once the pompom is glued, allow the glue to dry for about 15 minutes.

Customize your airplane with paint markers by drawing lines, chevrons, dots, ...

To create the wheels of the plane, glue 2 buttons of about 1 to 1.5 cm in diameter onto the sides of the clothespin (between the wings and the propeller).

Place the plane upside down (wheels facing up) and let the glue dry for about 15 minutes.

Congratulations! You have built your first model airplane.
