The ink of POSCA markers is made of water and fade-resistant pigments.
Permanent on porous surfaces, once the paint is dry, you can varnish your creation with a watercolor or acrylic paint varnish. On smooth surfaces, POSCA is temporary; you can fix the paint on porcelain by covering it with a water-based spray varnish, spraying from 30cm with small circular motions. Items decorated with POSCA markers lose their food-use safety.
- POSCA on fabrics such as cotton, silk, linen, or denim, polyester, viscose, and coated canvas: for better adherence, wash your fabric before decorating. Start by outlining your design and then color it gradually to avoid a possible blotter effect on delicate fabrics. To set the colors, iron the fabric inside out without steam.
- POSCA on glass and windows: erasable with a damp cloth or glass cleaner.
- POSCA on glass and ceramics: For non-food use, set the colors with a water-based varnish.
- POSCA on unglazed terracotta and porcelain: bake the item in the oven at 220°C for 45 minutes to set the colors.
In general, to achieve optimal results on dark surfaces, it is recommended to use white and then overlay with the final color.
