What are the wooden keys for?
Typically at the back of a taut frame, you will find a small bag of wooden keys. Changes in temperature and the weight of the paint can relax your canvas. That is why these small wedges are installed in the slots located at the four inner corners of a frame. Position each key and gently tap them in one by one, in a clockwise direction using a hammer. It is preferable to install the keys once your painting is finished.
