A simple and fun Christmas activity!
With a few cardboard cups, wooden popsicle sticks and some Christmas accessories to stick on, children will create lovely Christmas sleighs driven by funny little characters.
An easy craft from age 5, perfect for developing creativity and enjoying a friendly moment with family or in class. Once finished, the sleighs can be used to decorate the house for Christmas!

How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Material:
To make a sleigh, you need:
- A cardboard cup
- Rubber Christmas stickers (or decorated wooden snowmen)
- Self-adhesive glittery flexible rubber
- Decorated wooden Christmas shapes (or felt star stickers)
- 15.5 cm wooden sticks
- Red paint and a paintbrush
- Adhesive gel dots (glue dots)
- A pair of scissors
- A cutter
Step 1:
To start, paint the cup with red paint (except for the bottom of the cup, which we will intentionally leave white).
Let the paint dry for about 20 minutes.
Step 2:
WARNING this step may require the help of an adult.
Using a cutter, make two incisions 3 cm wide and 2 cm long as shown below.
Step 3:
In a sheet of glitter foam rubber, cut out 5 strips:
- Two strips measuring 7 cm long and 0.5 cm wide
- Three strips measuring 3 cm long and 1.2 cm wide
Step 4:
Lift the two tabs, then stick the 3 small golden strips as shown in the photo.
Step 5:
Then glue the two large golden strips on each side of the sleigh.
Step 6:
Stick the Christmas rubber characters onto the tabs.
Step 7:
Turn the cup over, then stick 2 large wooden sticks using adhesive gel dots.
Step 8:
Finally, decorate the sleigh by sticking wooden Christmas motifs with adhesive gel dots.
Other option:
But you can also:
- Replace the wooden Christmas motifs with self-adhesive felt stars
- Replace the rubber Christmas stickers with wooden snowmen.
