Using a polystyrene cone, children will have fun creating an original Christmas tree to decorate the house for the end-of-year festivities.
Painting and gluing buttons are on the agenda for this easy activity for kids. At the end of this activity, children will be able to wrap the tree with a LED garland to make it shine brightly.

How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials
To make a beautiful Christmas tree, you will need:
- a wooden log (Ø 14 cm)
- a large polystyrene cone (20 cm)
- a wooden star (9 cm)
- green and gold paint and a brush
- an artificial garland
- plastic buttons
- an LED garland
- a glue gun
- adhesive dots
- a pair of scissors
Step 1
Paint the cone with green paint and the wooden star with gold paint, then let it dry for about 2 hours.
Tip: Stick the cone on a wooden skewer so you can paint it and let it dry easily without getting your fingers dirty!
Step 2
Glue the polystyrene cone to the center of the wooden log using the glue gun.
Also, glue the golden star to the top of the Christmas tree using the glue gun.
Step 3
Decorate the tree by sticking buttons with adhesive dots.
Tip: Adhesive dots will help young children easily and quickly stick the buttons onto the tree!
Step 4
Cut a piece of Christmas garland about 40 cm long.
Step 5
Tie the two ends of the fir branch together to create a small wreath, then place it around the polystyrene cone.
This will help decorate and enhance the base of the tree.
Step 6
Wrap a LED garland around the tree using the buttons as support points.
Step 7
Turn on the LED garland and admire the result once night falls!
