Color Rainboard

To create a "Color Rain" canvas, you will need:

- a 33 x 41 cm canvas

- 38 wax crayons

- a glue gun

- a tube of strong white glue

- a heat gun

- masking tape

- a pair of scissors

- a graphite pencil

- a printed photo of a child holding an umbrella

Print a photo of a child holding an umbrella so that the child measures between 15 and 20 cm.

Cut out the photo.

Place the child's photo on the canvas at the desired location, then trace the outline of the photo with a graphite pencil.

Cover the outlined silhouette with masking tape.

Don’t forget to also cover the area underneath the umbrella.

The masking tape will protect the area that should remain white when pouring the wax.

Select 38 wax crayons in the colors of your choice.

Using a glue gun, apply glue to the body of the crayon then immediately stick it to the top of the board (pointing down towards the silhouette).

Glue the 38 crayons side by side, varying the colors.

Once the crayons are glued to the board, position the board vertically (slightly tilted back) and protect the work surface beneath the board.

Heat each crayon with a heat gun for about ten seconds to melt the crayon wax.

Repeat the process if necessary to achieve a larger flow of colored wax.

Once the wax is dry, remove the masking tape to reveal the previously drawn silhouette.

Stick the photo onto the white area using a strong white glue.

Be sure to align the curve of the umbrella with the drips of wax to achieve a realistic effect.

It is now time to hang your artwork on one of the walls at home!
