With plastic eggs and LED candles, we will show you how to create beautiful fireflies with children.

These small glowing insects can be easily decorated using stickers, pipe cleaners, and tracing paper. A unique craft to share with family that will fascinate your little artists and brighten up the home!

How to complete this tutorial step by step?

Materials

To make beautiful fireflies, you will need:

- colored plastic eggs (nesting)

- square rhinestone stickers

- eye stickers

- colored caterpillars

- tracing paper

- a black marker

- a pair of scissors

- LED candles

- adhesive dots

Step 1

Stick square gem stickers on the bottom part of the plastic egg.

Tip: Open the egg so that children can more easily distinguish the joint between the two parts.

Step 2

Stick 2 adhesive eyes on the upper part of the egg.

Step 3

Draw a nice smile with a permanent marker.

Step 4

Fold a sheet of tracing paper in half and then draw the wings of the firefly (starting from the folded edge).

Cut the wings along the outline.

Note: Folding the sheet in half will ensure that the wings are symmetrical.

Step 5

Cut the wings in half at the fold and glue them on either side of the egg using adhesive dots.

Step 6

Open the egg and pass a colored caterpillar through the two holes located at the top.

Step 7

Cut the excess pipe cleaner and then twist the ends to create the firefly's antennae.

Step 8

Place a powerful LED candle inside the firefly.

Note: We preferred to use our powerful LED candles instead of standard LED candles because they elegantly showcase the colors of the plastic eggs.
