Crepe Paper Cosmos Flowers

- Red crepe paper (to make the petals)

- Green crepe paper (to make the leaves + a strip of 1x 20 cm to cover the stem)

- Yellow crepe paper (to make the stamen)

- Hot glue gun

- 1 green florist stem

- Wire

Print the template to download attached (under the main image), this will provide you with the cutting template needed to create a flower.

Cut a fringe from the yellow paper strip, then glue the end to the stem and wrap the strip around itself. 

Once the entire strip is wrapped, apply a dot of glue.

The heart of the flower (the stamen) is ready.

Shape the red petals with your fingers: carefully stretch the middle so that the petal becomes round. Crepe paper is elastic, so it will take the shape you give it with the heat of your fingers, but be careful not to pull too hard to avoid tearing the paper.

Repeat this operation on each petal.

Then twist the base of the petal to make it pointed. Also repeat this operation on each petal.

Arrange 4 petals around the stamen, then secure them using a glue gun at the base of the stamen.

Add 4 petals, arranged alternately between the ones you glued in the previous step. 

Also fix with glue.

Wrap the green crepe paper strip (the widest one) around the base of the flower, secure it with green wire to stabilize the base of your flower on the florist's stem.

Take the 1x 20 cm green crepe strip to cover the metal stem.

Secure it with a dot of glue at the end of the stem, then roll up the bias tape back to the base of the flower. As you go up with the tape, add leaves and a dot of glue to hold everything in place. 

Repeat steps 1 to 6 with purple, then pink, and finally white petals to create a whole bouquet.
