Mittens drawing gum and drawing ink
In this children's activity themed around winter, we will make a lovely pair of colorful mittens.
To make it unique, each little artist can draw beautiful patterns using a drawing gum marker. Also known as masking liquid, this technique will allow white patterns to appear on the paper once the ink is applied!
This simple and easy DIY project is a great way to stimulate children's creativity and concentration.

How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials:
To make mittens you will need:
- a "mitten" template to print
- a strong white paper (A4 - 300 g/m²)
- a drawing gum marker
- drawing ink and a brush
- adhesive felt
- red and white thread
- a black marker
- a pair of scissors
- a hole punch
- a cutting mat
Step 1:
Print our template by clicking here.
With a black marker, draw the pair of mittens on a sturdy white card (A4 - 300 g/m²).
Step 2:
Cut the mittens with a pair of scissors.
Step 3:
In adhesive felt, cut out 2 rectangles with the same dimensions as the edges of the mittens.
Step 4:
Remove the cap, then glue the felt rectangles onto the mittens.
Step 5:
With the smallest head of the punch, make a hole in both mittens.
Tip: Use a cutting board to avoid damaging your work surface.
Step 6:
Cut a piece of red and white thread about 30 cm long. Thread it through the holes of the mittens and make a knot on each side to secure the thread.
Step 7:
Draw patterns on the mittens using a drawing gum marker.
Let the masking gum dry for a few minutes.
Step 8:
Cover the mittens with drawing ink in the color of your choice. As you can see, the ink does not cover the areas decorated with drawing gum marker.
Once the ink is dry, rub the drawing gum patterns with your finger to remove the thin film of gum.
