With a few pieces of newspaper and black paper, children can cut, glue, and assemble adorable little penguins. This activity is perfect for stimulating their creativity while developing their fine motor skills and concentration.
Each penguin is a unique creation that can be used as winter decoration or transformed into a puppet to invent fabulous polar stories. Easy to make and full of charm, this activity is suitable for both little and big kids.
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials
To create lovely little penguins, you will need:
- a sturdy black cardstock
- a sturdy yellow cardstock
- a newspaper (or magazine)
- wiggle eyes
- a pair of scissors
- a pencil
- a glue stick
Step 1
Cut out the penguin's body from a thick black card.
It can be oval, round, square, or rectangular—it's up to you to choose!
Step 2
Cut out a shape similar to the penguin's body but smaller from a sheet of newspaper.
Glue the newspaper onto the black shape to create the penguin's belly.
Step 3
Cut out 2 wings from the black cardstock and then glue them behind the body of the penguin.
Step 4
Glue 2 moving eyes Ø 1.8 cm.
Step 5
Cut out the penguin's beak and feet from a strong yellow card, then glue them on with the glue stick.
Step 6
Have fun varying the shapes to create a bunch of funny penguins!
