The Recipe for Artificial Snow
How to make artificial snow at home ?
Making cold artificial snow is an easy and fun winter-themed activity, suitable for toddlers even under 1 year old.
By mixing baking soda with shaving cream, children can enjoy creating fake snow. They can then mold it and, using cookie cutters, shape it into pretty forms or create snowmen, or simply have fun touching the cold texture.
An asensory activity that is ideal for stimulating fine motor skills while allowing the discovery of unique textures.
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials:
To create fake snow, you will need:
- shaving foam
- baking soda
- a brush
- a white PVC tray
- cookie cutters
Step 1:
To begin, pour baking soda into a PVC tray.
Step 2:
Next, add shaving foam to the baking soda.
Dosage: for one cup of baking soda, you need approximately one cup of shaving foam.
Step 3:
Mix the two products until you achieve a "snow" texture using a brush or a spoon.
TIP: Add a little shaving foam if the snow is too dry and does not stick at all (this is important for making snowballs or snowmen, as the snow needs to stick a bit). If it sticks too much, you can add a little baking soda.
Step 4:
All that’s left is to let the children play with the cookie cutters, create snowmen, or simply explore the cold texture with their hands.
