Magic Milk - Easy Experiment for Kids

Materials
To perform the magic milk experiment, you will need:
- a shallow plate and a small dish
- milk
- dish soap
- colored ink
- pipettes
- cotton swabs
Step 1
Pour milk into a shallow dish.
Step 2
Pour some dish soap into a small bowl.
Step 3
Drop a few drops of colored ink onto the surface of the milk using a pipette.
Note : you can also use food coloring.
Step 4
Dip a cotton swab into the dish soap.
Step 5
Place the cotton swab head at the center of the colored spots and observe the "magic" happening before the amazed eyes of the children.
Step 6
What happened?
Milk is actually a liquid composed of water, proteins, and fat. When it comes into contact with dish soap, the water and fat in the milk separate to create a beautiful swirl of colors because the ink, as you may have noticed, does not mix with the milk and stays on the surface.
Note: Without colorant, the chemical reaction would be invisible to the naked eye.
