Maracas for Carnival
In this tutorial, we will make beautiful maracas using small wooden boxes, rice, jingle bells, and colorful accessories.
An easy and fun craft that will allow children to create a real rhythmic musical instrument for Carnival !
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials
To make maracas, you will need:
- small wooden boxes (Ø 7.5 cm)
- solid gouache sticks
- adhesive rhinestone strips
- felt star stickers
- jingles (Ø 1.8 cm)
- rice
- a glue gun
- a pair of scissors
Step 1
Decorate a small round wooden box with solid poster paint sticks.
Practical, poster paint sticks are highly opaque and the paint dries almost instantly!
Step 2
Glue a strip of rhinestones around the lid of the box.
Step 3
Decorate the box with felt star stickers.
Step 4
Glue 3 jingles onto the lid of the box using a glue gun.
Step 5
Pour rice into the box to cover the bottom.
Note: there is no need to put too much rice!
Étape 6
Apply glue inside the lid to seal the box permanently.
All that's left is to shake the box in rhythm like maracas!
