Modeling Clay Bowls
This creative and fun activity will allow children to use their hands to shape and create a useful object: pretty bowls. They can choose their favorite colors, personalize their bowls with unique patterns, and most importantly, they will have the satisfaction of seeing their creation harden into an object they can really use, like a small bowl for storing treasures or tiny jewelry.
It's also an excellent way to develop their fine motor skills while having fun !
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Step 1
Take a bit of light blue and dark blue modeling clay, shape it into balls about the size of a small ball (approximately 5 cm). Then, flatten each ball with a rolling pin as if you were making a small pancake.
Step 2
On the dark blue dough crepe, place small pieces of light blue and pink dough on each side (front and back), as if you were adding confetti.
Step 3
Using a cookie cutter, cut out circles from the dough.
Step 4
Take a pot of modeling dough, turn it upside down, and place your circle of modeling dough on top. Use your fingers to gently press the dough around the pot, as if you were putting on a cover.
Let the dough dry for 30 minutes, then flip everything over to reveal a beautiful bowl made by you!
