Modeling Clay Snail and Planting Pins
To recreate at home, these adorable little snails, we will use terracotta modeling clay, a styrofoam ball, plastic pins, and wooden matches.
A fun and original creative activity that kids will love to do for Autumn!
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials:
To make a snail you need:
- air-drying modeling clay - Terracotta
- a polystyrene ball Ø 5 cm
- colored plastic pins
- wooden matches
- moving eyes Ø 12 mm
Step 1:
To begin, stick plastic pins all over the surface of the ball.
Step 2:
Take a bit of terracotta modeling dough and shape a snail's body.
Step 3:
Before the modeling clay dries, insert a wooden match into the polystyrene ball, then plant the whole thing into the modeling clay.
Step 4:
Then insert two wooden matches to form the snail's antennas.
Step 5:
And finally, insert a mobile eye Ø 12 mm into the modeling dough.
Step 6:
Then let dry for about 24 hours; the modeling clay should lighten.
