For summer, children will have fun creating a lovely canvas depicting the ocean and a sailboat.
Using foam stamps and paint, we will show you a simple technique to achieve a beautiful textured background in ocean colors. Children can even personalize this marine canvas by using rope and alphabet stickers to write their names.
An original creative activity that will make a lovely decoration for children's rooms!
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials
To create a beautiful picture, you will need:
- a round wooden base (Ø 18 cm)
- a small wooden sailboat
- acrylic paint (white, light blue, turquoise, dark blue, white)
- foam stamps
- a paintbrush
- macramé cord (Ø 5 mm)
- alphabet stickers
- nano tape
- a hot glue gun
- a pair of scissors
Step 1
Paint the wooden support by dabbing paint with foam stamps of different sizes.
To recreate a lovely underwater background, we used light blue, dark blue, and turquoise.
Step 2
Paint the sail of the sailboat with white paint.
Step 3
Glue the sailboat onto the round base using nano tape to create a 3D effect.
Ensure that the tip of the sailboat's mast touches the edge of the round base.
Step 4
Customize the board with a name using alphabet stickers.
Step 5
Use the glue gun to attach 5 mm macramé cord to the edge of the round wooden base for a nice finish.
Note: You will need approximately 58 cm of cord to complete the outline of the round wooden base.
Step 6
Place the board on a cardboard easel so that it can be displayed in the house.
