In this craft, we will give a second life to our cardboard packaging!
With these materials, children can create beautiful reindeer to hang on the Christmas tree.
A creative activity that, besides being easy and fun, will raise children's awareness about themes such as recycling and upcycling.
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials
To make a reindeer you will need:
- a piece of cardboard
- 2 googly eyes Ø 2.5 cm
- 2 brown pipe cleaners
- a pom-pom
- a black felt pen and a brown felt pen
- a pencil
- some cord
- a toothpick
- a pair of scissors
- strong white glue
Step 1
Using a circular object (for example, a mug), trace a circle on a piece of cardboard.
Also draw the 2 ears of the reindeer.
Step 2
Cut out the circle as well as the two ears of the reindeer.
Step 3
Glue the 2 ears behind the cardboard circle.
Step 4
Drill 2 small holes next to the reindeer's ears using a toothpick.
Step 5
Pass a caterpillar through a hole and then fold it in half.
Twist the bases of the caterpillars together and shape them to form the antlers of the reindeer. If needed, cut off any excess caterpillar.
Repeat the operation in the second hole.
Step 6
Glue 2 movable eyes Ø 2.5 cm as well as a colored pom-pom.
Step 6
Draw the reindeer's mouth, some "freckles" under the eyes, and the insides of the ears with a brown/black marker.
Step 8
Drill a small hole between the two antlers using a toothpick.
Step 9
Attach a cord so that you can hang this little cardboard reindeer on the Christmas tree.
