How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials:
To make salt painting, you will need:
- a printable template "Christmas Balls"
- a white 3D paint pen
- fine table salt
- a sheet of clear rhodoid plastic
- drawing ink + brushes
- bi-color string
- a hole punch
- a protective mat
- a PVC tray
- a pair of scissors
Step 1:
To get started, print our "Christmas Ornaments" template by clicking here.
Then, place a sheet of clear rhodoid plastic over the template.
Step 2:
Redraw the outline of the ball using a white 3D paint pen.
Step 3:
Without allowing it to dry, place the sheets in a tray, then add salt to all the markings.
Step 4:
Then shake the leaves over the tray to remove the excess salt.
Step 5:
Dip a brush into a bottle of ink in the color of your choice, then gently place the brush on the salt.
No need to press down with the brush, the ink will be absorbed by the salt and will spread on its own.
Step 6:
Vary the inks to achieve a beautiful gradient of colors.
Then let it dry for about 30 minutes.
Step 7:
Once dry, cut the foam board following the contours of the ball.
Step 8:
At the top of the ball, punch a hole using the largest tip of the hole punch.
Tip: Use a cutting mat to protect your workspace
Step 9:
Cut a piece of red and white thread approximately 30 cm long. Pass it through the hole and tie a knot to hang the ball on the tree.
