This craft will allow them to create their very own Santa Claus from simple foam balls!
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials:
To make a Santa Claus, you need:
- a wooden log with a diameter of 8 to 11 cm
- two polystyrene balls with a diameter of 7 cm and 5 cm
- a small felt hat
- three decorative mini gifts
- five metallic chenilles, two red and three gold
- a mini pom-pom
- a roll of stuffing
- two googly eyes with a diameter of 1.8 cm
- red and flesh-colored paint + a paintbrush
- a pair of scissors
- a glue gun
Step 1:
Paint the 7 cm diameter polystyrene ball red and the 5 cm diameter ball with skin-colored paint.
Let dry for 20 minutes.
Step 2:
Using a glue gun, attach the ball with a diameter of 7 cm to a wooden log and the ball with a diameter of 5 cm to the one of 7.
Step 3:
Wrap two red chenille stems of 30 cm around a brush to create Santa Claus's arms and insert them into the polystyrene ball with a diameter of 7 cm.
Step 4:
Form the belt of Santa Claus by wrapping 3 golden pipe cleaners around the polystyrene ball.
Insert each end of the pipe cleaners into the polystyrene ball to secure it.
Step 5:
Next, glue on some googly eyes Ø 1.8 cm and a mini pompom to create Santa Claus's face using a glue gun.
Step 6:
Using the glue gun, attach a Santa hat to the 5 cm diameter ball.
Step 7:
In a strip of cotton, cut out a shape of Santa's beard and glue it under the mini pom-pom.
Step 8:
And finally, glue 3 small gifts onto the wooden log.
