Imagine the joy of seeing their eyes light up as they assemble an adorable snowman, complete with a little hat and a colorful scarf, alongside a twinkling tree.
This easy and fun activity will allow children to create an original and charming decoration to brighten up your home during the holidays!
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials
To create this lovely light-up scene, you will need:
- a rectangular wooden base (12.5 x 8.5 cm)
- metallic poster paint sticks
- gold and silver cabochons
- a polystyrene half-ball (Ø 5.5 cm)
- a polystyrene ball (Ø 5 cm)
- a mini knitted hat
- a small scarf
- markers
- stick-on googly eyes
- a tube of strong white glue
- a hot glue gun
- an LED light-up Christmas tree
Step 1
Decorate the wooden base with a stick of gouache.
Tip: The solid gouache is highly pigmented and dries almost instantly!
Step 2
Glue the cabochons around the wooden base to create an elegant finish.
Step 3
Using the glue gun, attach the half polystyrene ball to the right side of the base and then glue the polystyrene ball on top to create the body of the snowman.
Step 4
Glue the hat and scarf onto the snowman using the glue gun.
Step 5
Paste 2 small eye stickers onto the polystyrene ball, then draw a carrot and the mouth of the snowman with markers.
Step 6
To complete your creation, place a small lit Christmas tree next to the snowman to light up the house during winter evenings!
