Materials
To make a reindeer, you need:
- a small polystyrene cone (11 cm)
- a polystyrene ball (Ø 7 cm)
- a wood slice (Ø 7 cm)
- brown paint and a paintbrush
- wooden buttons
- 2 movable eyes Ø 1.8 cm
- a small hat
- a small scarf
- 2 brown pipe cleaners
- a glitter pom-pom
- a glue gun
- a pair of scissors
- 2 wooden skewers
Step 1
Paint the cone and the polystyrene ball with brown acrylic paint.
Tip: Insert the polystyrene shapes onto wooden sticks to make them easy to paint and dry!
Step 2
Once the paint is dry, cut the tip off the polystyrene cone (about 2 cm).
Step 3
Glue the ball onto the polystyrene cone with the glue gun to form the body of the reindeer.
Step 4
Decorate the reindeer's body by gluing on a small scarf and a few wooden buttons.
Step 5
Decorate the polystyrene ball by gluing on 2 wiggle eyes and a red pom-pom to create the little nose of the reindeer.
Step 6
Glue a small hat on the reindeer's head using the hot glue gun.
Step 7
Cut 2 pieces of brown pipe cleaner about 10 cm long to create the base of the reindeer's antlers. Next, cut small pieces of pipe cleaner and tie them onto the reindeer's antlers to add thickness.
Insert the pipe cleaners into the polystyrene on each side of the hat.
Step 8
Glue the reindeer onto a small piece of wood to add a nice finishing touch to your creation.
