Using modeling dough and the children's handprint, we will create an original Father Christmas to hang on the tree!
A simple Christmas activity that children will love!
How to complete this tutorial step by step?
Materials
To make a Christmas father suspension you will need:
- white modeling clay (air-drying)
- a modeling mat
- modeling tools
- a rolling pin
- acrylic paint (red and flesh)
- a paintbrush
- colored pom-poms
- 2 mobile eyes Ø 2.5 cm
- white cotton
- string
- a tube of strong white glue
Step 1
Roll out the white modeling clay using a rolling pin, keeping a thickness of approximately 5 mm to 1 cm.
To protect your work surface, you can use a plastic modeling mat.
Step 2
Place your hand on the dough and outline it with a marker.
Step 3
Cut the imprint by removing the excess modeling dough and then make a hole at the base of the hand (to be able to hang the Santa Claus).
Then let the dough dry until the next day.
Step 4
Once the dough is dry, paint the base of the hand and the thumb with red paint to create Santa Claus's hat.
Paint the central part with skin-colored paint for Santa Claus's face.
Step 5
Glue a pompom to the tip of the thumb for the hat and another pompom in the center of the hand for Santa Claus's nose.
Step 6
Glue white cotton to create the outline of the hat and the mustache of Santa Claus.
Step 7
Glue on 2 large moving eyes Ø 2.5 cm.
Step 8
Attach a cord so you can hang Santa Claus on the tree.
